Sustaining the InPlant in a Greening World
Date: 7/29/2008 - 7/30/2008
Location: Cal Poly State Univ., San Luis Obispo, CA
“Going green” has become a popular phrase embedded within the vernacular of the graphic communication industry, and, most importantly, within the confines of the very organizations for which are served by in-plant print facilities. Although there has been much talk surrounding the many acronyms that make up the newly awakened world of sustainability, the question remains “where are you in the quest to become a contributor to a sustainable world?” This one-and-a-half day workshop is the first of a three-part series that addresses the how, why, and when for strategically developing a mission-critical plan for greening and sustaining the in-plant printing operation. Gone are the days when a using recycled paper and soy-based inks tended to keep people happy. Recent legislation in southern California has established a benchmark with regards to air emissions that will soon change the way the print industry will do business. Instead of reacting to the change, learn to become proactive and walk away from each workshop with a latent plan to green your operation and contribute to the sustainability initiative being directed in your parent organization. Learn of ways that can turn challenges into opportunities and sustain your existence. This dates of this workshop were planned to precede the 7th Annual UC/CSU/CCC
Sustainability Conference, being held on the Cal Poly campus July 31-August 3, 2008. For more information on this conference, visit: http://sustainability.calpoly.edu
