  • Chinese Newspaper Penalized
    Employees of The Chinese Daily News won a $5.19 million class-action lawsuit against the paper for years of denied overtime payment and other labor law violations. Two hundred employees—including reporters, production staff, delivery drivers, advertising sales staff and secretaries—initiated the suit in 2004, charging  the paper withheld overtime pay and denied workers breaks during shifts of 12 hours and longer. more » » »
