Blog Sponsorship

November 6, 2008 So as many of you can see some of the blogs on GAM (mine and Rays) have become sponsored. I first heard about this at Graph Expo when I ran into Bill Elser walking out of the Show Daily office. The idea of sponsoring blogs is someone new, at least to me, but not unheard of. After hearing about this I did some research and found the following online postings:

The Best Way of Making Money on a Blog is Through Sponsorship

$25K Monthly Blog Sponsorship Deal

Blogging for Dollars Blog

I find that ethics are often overlooked or ignored, so I feel obligated to discuss my personal rules. The content or tone of any of my comments either verbal or in writing are not influenced by sponsorship. Working for NAPL which is an Association we have many partners who offer varying degrees of sponsorship, but that does not impact what we say or do.

For me there are only a few things that shape my opinions. That includes: objective research from NAPL or other repeatable sources, things seen with our own eyes, and comments we hear from our clients.
