Inaugural Digital Services Peer Group
March 14, 2008

As discussed recently – a few days before the On-Demand show we had the inaugural Digital Services Peer Group. The timing was not great because many people wanted to attend the HP DSCOP meeting the week before and the On demand show the week later.

However, this actually turned out to be a good thing because we ended up with a fairly equal mix of digital press users (Kodak, HP, Xerox and Konica Minota), as well as a equal number of web to print users and MIS system users.

Several companies attended and many sent more then one person to represent different parts of their business including: operations, business development, technology and sales. This also worked out well because to really understand and successfully convert digital technology into a successful business you need to understand all facets.

Presentations included:
  • The Value of Digital Printing to the Marketing Agency
  • Creating a 3-D, Pop-Up, Variable Data Campaign
  • Best Practices in Web To Print
  • Creating Variable Data Signs and Print
  • Web to Print Business Models
I am pleased to report that the reviews of the content were high. I will offer some insights from the meeting in future blogs. This is just the first of many. If anyone is interested in learning more about the next meeting please email me at hfenton@napl.org.
