The Green Sales Call
August 31, 2007
This being the age of Green (Earth-friendly activities), it is vital for the hip printing sales person to understand what is required of them. Naturally (pun intended), your SalesCall blogger is way out ahead of the pack, setting trends, staying eco, and reporting back on how to make green sales calls:
1. Drive to the call in a Prius or other hybrid car, bike or walk;
2. Wear only natural fibers. Underwear is optional, but discouraged;
3. Eat healthy that morning, ingesting oatmeal or cardboard;
4. If you are planning to take the client out for lunch, think ahead of where you can go to eat where no harm is done to the Earth, no trash is generated, and chemicals are used. My suggestion is to go with anything that mixes hops and barley;
5. The company you call on must engage in green activities or be a farmer. They don’t buy much printing but you’d rather have a $50 order from a tofu farmer than a $500,000 order from ExxonMobil, right?
6. Use recyclable materials in your presentation (like BS, for example);
7. Orders must be hand delivered-no delivery vehicles;
8. And the most important green factor of all: Be paid for the job in cash!
The green sales call is not difficult. Following these guidelines, you will rack up tens of dollars in sales in just a few months. You will be healthier from all that walking. You will be healthier from all those natural foods. The Earth will be happier for the effort. It’s a true win-win.
