Best sales advice ever
June 15, 2007
When I graduated college, a job in sales was my reward. All my life, people told me to go into sales. Stupid me, I listened.
My older brother Andy was the source of some great advice. He was an endless sales fortune cookie, always churning out a gem that I now wish I had written down. The free audio sales tips I kick out each week (www.printtec.com to sign up) have their roots in Andy’s words.
I was coaching a sales rep the other day and we got talking about sales advice. Andy’s words came back to me and I shared a few gems with him. In no particular order, they were:
• The best time to call someone and get them in the office is ten minutes prior to the top of the hour;
• Study the craft of sales. Become the best listener you can be;
• When things are busy, work your ass off. When it is quiet, go play golf.
What is the best sales advice you were ever given?
