Great moments in practical joke history
June 18, 2007
“Of the few things I miss about working in an office of other sales people, the jokes we’d play on each other is right up there at the top. We had a great group of sales people and the usual mixture of high strung newbies and one-foot-in-the-grave veterans. Leading the whole thing were three managers. Two were District Managers and one was the Regional Manager. In short, it was a target-right environment. This week, I thought I’d spend some time sharing some stories of those good old days in the hopes that y’all do the same in return.
Picture this: the hallway to the sales office had four doorways on the left side. In succession, there was the entrance to the district office where we cubicle-bound reps did our boiler room thing. Then, there was the Men’s Room and the Ladies’ Room followed by the Regional Manager’s private entrance. Each door was marked by an attractive plaque, firmly held on by two screws. Now, what’s interesting about those screws is that they can be easily removed, thus loosening the plaque and eventually causing it to fall off entirely. Imagine the impact of that happening to the Ladies Room and Regional Manager signs and then the impact of them being switched. Hmmmmmmmm.
