What to do?
November 19, 2007
What to do? What to do? What to do this week? Holiday weeks are difficult to handle from a sales standpoint. It is important to keep working, but killer assumptions like “No one wants to hear from a salesman this time of year” can stop any sales efforts literally before they begin.
I tell my clients to continue to sell and prospect until you hear the customer yell “Uncle!” That is, don’t assume. Next, use this week to get to projects you’ve put off. Another good use of this time is to increase your sales efficiency by looking at your hardware and software and make sure you have the right tools for the job. You might also think about 2008 and create a plan for the New Sales Year. However, if you choose instead to kick back and rest, great! Enjoy every minute of it and prepare yourself mentally for a year-end push.
Me? I am doing all of the above while basking in the glory of the Boston sports teams. Ahhhhhhhhhhh……
