Part 2: How often should roller settings be checked and why?

Question: How often should roller settings be checked and why? (Part 2)
Answer: For internal settings, usually we will do this for a three-shift operation once per quarter and for a one shift every six months. When internal settings go off it can drive you crazy since usually what happens is that the settings go light and not heavy. What this does to the printing is you loose the ability to raise and lower density. Now you have a real nightmare on your hands and the press has to be shut down and all internal rollers reset--that is a lot of time. Chances are when you find out that this is the cause of your color control issues many jobs have been affected. Thus checking settings on a quarterly basis when time permits is not a bad idea. The easy way is to take one unit a week each quarter. Then you will rarely have an issue with internal settings.
