Progress on Comeback Trail

Staff -- graphic arts online, 4/1/2001

Goss Holdings, Inc., Westmont, Ill., the parent company of Goss Graphic Systems, Inc., maker of web offset press systems for newspaper production and commercial printing, reported that new orders in 2000 amounted to $705.4 million, up 76% from 1999. For full-year 2000, net sales were $623.4 million, up from $607.8 million in 1999.

Addressing the firm's recovery, James Sheehan, chairman and chief executive, says, "I am pleased to report that, in addition to posting significantly improved financial results for 2000, Goss had by year-end satisfied all of its commitments to suppliers in a timely fashion."

Also, an Iowa district court denied dismissal motions presented by four defendants in Goss's antidumping suit. Sheehan says, "We are very pleased that the court has agreed with our position on these motions and will allow us to proceed with our claims."
