New Mail-Well Executive

Named chairman of Mail-Well in January was Tom Stephens, who was appointed a Mail-Well director last May. Stephens, who headed Johns Manville from 1986 until 1996, served from 1997 until 1999 as president and chief executive of the Canadian forest products company MacMillan Bloedel (since merged with Weyerhaeuser).

Stephens says, "Mail-Well has grown very rapidly and has established a solid competitive position in its core businesses. We want to continue a growth agenda, but balance that growth with improvements in our productivity and ability to serve our customers' needs."
