Unitedprint Claims Patent Win in Europe

(Press Release) Munich, 13 of November 2008. With a spectacular decision the European web2print market leader unitedprint.com SE with its online print portals www.print24.co.uk and ww.unitedprint.co.uk causes relief and sensation in the entire European software and media industry.The Federal Patent Court decided to nullify the controversial Vistaprint patent with the file number EP 0 852 359 B1. Thereby, the attempt of the American company, with its head office on the Bermuda Islands, to monopolize the European web2print sector failed.
The bone of contention was the German part of the European patent, which Vistaprint acquired in 2004 in order to foreclose the market. However, the patent specifies only established technical processes and it was now nullified due to missing innovative performance.
With this decision unitedprint obtains an important victory for the entire European software and media industry and secures a free and fair competition.
