Penmar Industries Adds FSC Certified & 100% Post Consumer Recyclable Labels To Product Line (Press Release)

-- Graphic Arts Online, 4/24/2008 1:52:00 AM

SOUTH NORWALK, Conn. – April 23, 2008 – Penmar Industries announced that it has added a full line of FSC certified, 100% Post Consumer Recyclable labels to its extensive array of specialty adhesive label and tape product solutions.

The new line, the Recylabel® brand, is designed for laser and ink jet printers, copiers and digital offset printing.

The new recyclable labels are Available in Standard and Custom sizes (See this link for details: http://penmar-industries.com/recyclables_table.html)

“This new product can have a tremendous impact on the green initiatives of corporations and manufacturers and their customers,” said Tony Soegaard, Penmar’s president. “Reducing your carbon footprint, whether as an individual or a company, is an environmental goal that all of us should be pursuing,” he added.

“In a globally-competitive marketplace, companies can gain an edge and acquire new customers by offering environmentally friendly products that also cut costs,” Soegaard continued.

Recylabels® are made from 100% recyclable face stock and 100% recyclable adhesive. Because the new labels are recyclable, they make it easier for users to recycle packaging and not have to pre-sort material. For example, the recyclable adhesive increases the quantity of corrugated boxes that meet recycling requirements. This saves money and is good for the environment.

All labels in the line are made from Clean Edge Technology®, manufactured using a unique process that eliminates the adhesive around the edge of the label sheet. This means no adhesive bleed that can contaminate a laser printer, eliminating adhesive mess and waste.

The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is a non-profit international organization promoting oversight of responsibly managed forests. “ ’FSC Certified’ means that the wood used to produce this new line of labels comes from well-managed forests that have been certified by the FSC and from other controlled sources and/or recycled material,” explained J. Rick Cipot, Penmar’s sales director. “

“Post-consumer recyclables”, as defined in the federal Resource Recovery and Information Act, are those products generated by a business or consumer that have served their intended end uses.
