Rink Printing Installs 9th Komori Press (Press Release)

Rolling Meadows, IL– Komori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced it has installed a new, fully automated five-color, Lithrone SX29 (LSX 529) sheetfed offset press at Rink Printing Company’s state-of-the-art facility in downtown South Bend, Indiana. A long-time Komori customer, Rink Printing primarily serves advertising agencies, healthcare companies, and various colleges and universities. Rink Printing chose the LSX 529 for its advanced technology that makes it possible to significantly reduce makeready times and allows for quicker turnaround times, as well as a higher quality end product because of its coating capabilities.This is the 9th Komori press for Rink Printing, which began its business in 1961. They purchased a six color Lithrone S40 with coater in 2006, which revolutionized the company’s turnaround time and throughput. The success they saw with the LS640 prompted Rink Printing to purchase the LSX 529. The company reports that the LSX 529 has made every job a lot simpler with its automatic plate changing capability, making it possible to change plates in a fraction of the time it previously took.
“The LSX 529 is all about speed and efficiency. It has reduced makeready times by fifty percent,” said Mike Rink, owner of Rink Printing Company. “We are trying to ramp up to be running at maximum capacity and this press is going to help us achieve that goal.
