Drupa Finishing Touches
By Lisa Cross -- Graphic Arts Online, 4/1/2008
With a little more than one month until drupa 2008, May 29- June 11, Dusseldorf, Germany, industry vendors of finishing equipment continue to ready their array of new products and technology demos. Bobst will feature its Bobst, Asitrade, Atlas/Titan, General, Schiavi and Rotomec brands.
Bobst and other finishing equipment providers will focus on the ergonomic aspects of equipment—interfaces (shown) connecting workers to machines and higher automation.
Muller Martini reports its motto is “less is more,” and will show systems that feature more output, more productivity, more profit with fewer production resources and less expense.
Heidelberg will debut its Stahlfolder KH 82 with an automatic cross-fold unit that makes ready in two minutes on repeat jobs. Depending on the level of automation selected, the setup time of the cross-fold unit is cut by up to 80% compared to its predecessor, the KH 78. Maximum speed combi folder was upped to 30,000 cycles per hour. www.drupa.com
