PRESS RELEASE: EFI  Welcomes 20-Year Industry Veteran as New Sales Director

-- Graphic Arts Online, 3/30/2008 7:05:00 PM

Foster City, Calif. – March 27, 2008 – EFI (Nasdaq: EFII), the world leader in customer-focused digital printing innovation, today announced it is ramping up the company’s efforts in the North American Graphic Arts (GA) market. The company has appointed Bill Bieger, a sales professional with a 20-year track record of success in the print industry, to the position of EFI Sales Director for North America / GA Solutions to spearhead these efforts. While EFI supplies a broad range of graphic arts solutions to address a wide variety of customer needs, Bieger will concentrate his efforts on solutions in a few specific areas where EFI has seen the most opportunity in the market. These include increasing color quality in Wide Format and Superwide format production, proofing to small format inkjet devices, providing color matched proofing and production and delivering JDF integration from EFI proofing and production to Print MIS. EFI GA solutions will be showcased at the ISA (International Sign Expo) March 27-29 in Orlando, Fla.

“Our award-winning GA Solutions are industry-leading, and we receive accolades from customers worldwide,” said Stefan Spiegel, general manager, Graphic Arts Solutions, EFI. “With Bill’s strong leadership skills, sales acumen, and deep understanding of the North American GA market, he is a terrific addition to our team. We look forward to his contribution as we drive increased market share in North America and achieve the same level of market leadership we have in Europe.”

Bieger is specifically responsible for North American sales of:

EFI Colorproof® XF, the cross platform proofing and large-format production solution that supports a variety of ink-jet printers (up to 104") from various manufacturers and provides the highest level of color quality and control as well as consistent color across multiple applications and locations.

Fiery® XF leverages EFI's proofing competence for perfect colors, offering intelligent Clean Color and Full Gamut Technology for brilliant print results for both production and proofing purposes in a complete cross-platform application.

Designer Edition, a powerful tool to output accurate proofs, full color printouts and brilliant photos using the same RIP/inkjet printer combination

EFI Pre-press Workflow, an advanced prepress workflow solution that connects digital and offset environments. Based on Adobe’s PDF (Portable Document Format), EFI’s pre-press workflow solution is easy-to-use and cost-effective for professional printers in production environments.

Bieger joins EFI immediately following several years as director of business development ONYX in North America. Previously, he held sales management positions at X-Rite, Inc., including Global Accounts Manager for Imaging Products, and was the Channel Manager for BestColor USA, prior to EFI’s acquisition of the company. Previous to his tenure with BestColor, he held sales positions at Gretag Macbeth and Eastman Kodak Company.
