PRESS RELEASE: Allied Printing Switches to QuadTech Press Controls

-- Graphic Arts Online, 3/4/2008 3:45:00 PM

Sussex, WI– QuadTech, Inc. today announced another successful installation of its Register Guidance System with MultiCam for Allied Printing Services, a progressive, family-owned company that has operated in Connecticut since 1949.

Allied has operated Goss M-600 presses for several years because of their reliability and ability to handle a wide-range of applications. But when the company experienced difficulties with the dated register controls it was running on the M-600s, Allied chose to switch to the QuadTech Register Guidance System with MultiCam. “We we’re facing ongoing maintenance concerns with our existing press controls,” said Chris Gouveia with Allied Printing. “The switch to QuadTech controls has not only eliminated our maintenance worries, but has dramatically decreased our makeready waste as well – an added bonus in this industry!”

Allied reduced makeready waste between 30 and 40 percent with help from the new QuadTech controls, which were able to find marks and pull in the register much quicker than the previous system. In addition, the system is integrated with a simplified software platform that allows operators of all skill levels to find everything they need on a single touch-screen.

Continual reduction of makeready waste has been a top priority of print companies for decades. Firms like Allied attempt to cut their waste as a sure fire way of increasing revenue. The nature of the print industry demands companies to embrace the best technology as a means of achieving those goals.

Allied has found that the revolutionary QuadTech MultiCam utilizes breakthrough technology that is adaptable to the Goss M-600, affordable and virtually maintenance free. Further, the installation of the new QuadTech press controls has helped streamline Allied’s operation by automating the printing process and allowing operators who were previously concerned with register control to focus on other aspects of the press run such as color balance.

“QuadTech is focused on becoming the print industry’s global technology leader by offering high quality products and establishing a close bond with our customers,” said Karl Fritchen, President of QuadTech. “It is our pleasure to partner with a company like Allied Printing that is dedicated to the success of our mutual customers.”
