Personix Purchases First U.S. InfoPrint 5000

-- Graphic Arts Online, 1/22/2008 7:19:00 AM

Provider of financial statements Personix, Houston, TX, is the first firm in the U.S. to purchase an InfoPrint 5000 to produce full-color statements. Personix is a unit of Fiserv, Inc., a provider of high-volume laser printing, mailing, electronic document delivery solutions and plastic cards and personalization and mailing services.
The InfoPrint 5000 is available in simplex or tandem duplex configurations. The system can print at speeds up to 209.9 fpm or 916 full-color, two-up tandem duplex letter-size ipm. The system has a 20.4” web with up to 19.96” print width and offers a resolution of 720 x 360 dpi, with a compact fixed array printhead, low drying temperatures and water-based pigment inks. The system uses a piezo-electric drop-on-demand inkjet print head, which only jets ink when it's needed on the paper, so ink is never recycled or reconstituted. The device was nominated for a Must See 'em at Graph Expo.
“Our selection process made clear that this platform represents a giant leap forward in terms of producing high-quality, full-color documents at speeds and levels of productivity comparable to black and white solutions,” says Jorge Diaz, Personix president.
