Premier Print Awards

Winners of the Oscars of Print Profiled

-- Graphic Arts Online, 11/1/2007

The Appleton entry on our cover is among more than 100 featured in a supplement bound into this issue, all winners in the 58th annual PIA/GATF 2007 Premier Print Awards. The global competition is the printing industry’s oldest and largest. Hundreds of top industry executives and their families gathered for a swank banquet at the Chicago Hilton, held during Graph Expo in September. Honors were bestowed there on fewer than 2% of the flood of entries, recognized as representing the very best in print media. Printers from North America, Brazil, China, Ecuador, Hong Kong, Mexico and South Africa were among the recipients of the highly coveted bronze statuette of Ben Franklin, popularly known as a “Benny.” Winners for the 2007 competition were selected from 5,100 entries from 14 countries.
