Graph Expo Opens
Big Show Offers Technology Extravaganza
By Lisa Cross -- graphic arts online, 9/1/2007
Graph Expo, the industry's technology showcase, runs Sept. 9-12 in Chicago. Navigating the array of technologies on display (cold foil system shown) in 640 exhibits, occupying 460,984 net sq.ft., can make even an experienced attendee weak in the knees.
Several show events offer attendees guidance in budgeting their time. The day before the show, the Graphic Arts Show Co., which organizes the event, is set to announce technologies and products deemed as “Must See 'ems” (by a committee of print industry consultants, educators and other professionals) at its Executive Outlook Conference. The program will also include “Encore Must See 'Ems” from years past and “Worth A Looks.”
Another event focused on identifying what is hot at the show is the R&E Council of NAPL's Critical Trends Technology Breakfast on Monday, Sept. 10 (7:30 to 10 a.m.), at McCormick Place. The event presents industry experts' evaluations of technologies on display.
Several of the 11 technologies that captured honors in PIA/GATF's annual InterTech Technology Awards (www.intertechaward.com) will also be exhibited. www.graphexpo.com, www.napl.org
