Allegra Sees Stars
Quick Printer Called on by Hollywood

Allegra Print & Imaging, New Haven, CT (left), was transformed into an old Woolworth's five-and-dime store (right) for the filming of the fourth installment of the popular Indiana Jones films. The quick print franchise was part of the backdrop for a motorcycle-car chase scene with actor Harrison Ford, reprising his role as the whip-cracking archaeologist Jones.
Owner Bob Fraulo says his redecorated quick print shop continued to function normally until the three-day stretch of shooting began. No pedestrians were permitted on Allegra's street when the camera was rolling, causing some delivery delays.
“My customers are so thrilled about the filming that it won't be an issue,” said Fraulo beforehand.
His business's street runs right past Yale University, which was the main draw for filming. To create the '50s setting of the movie, parking meters and signs were taken out, and vintage automobiles were lined up on the street. Starbucks—decades away from its founding—was disguised as a tavern.
