Printware PlateStream Violet images oversized two-up (21.6×24.6´´) violet plates at 30 per hour, both screen rulings over 200 lpi and stochastic. The Harlequin-based PlateStream RIP is integrated into the CTP, enabling simple imposition, JDF-enablement, automatic font emulation (renders missing fonts), more precise soft proofing and color management. Fail-Safe Register Control eliminates operator error handling plates, and configurable features include barcode re-plating for easier platemaking. Müller Martini/VBF offers new products for hardcover book production. The Remote-Commander compiles data that can be viewed and further processed at an external workstation. The Ventura book sewing machine operates reliably even with two-up production or signatures with double gatefolds, and book blocks can run without blank stitching. The Collibri provides a wide variety of gluing capabilities. Blue Giant’s new line of Mantis hydraulic dock levelers offer capacities from 25,000 to 40,000 lbs. for mid- to high-volume shippers. A single push-button located on one remote, wall-mounted control station activates both deck and lip. Mantis docks are available in widths of 6, 6.5, and 7´ and lengths of 6, 8 and 10´.
