Design App Previews Projects

Esko Visualizer, package design software that combines creative graphics and structural design workflows into one collaborative design application, is set to ship this month in PC and Mac versions. The software combines graphic information in PDF and a variety of other formats with structural information—such as diecut shapes and folding lines, angles and sequence of formation required—keeping all the process components linked.
Visualizer is the result of a partnership between Esko, a system integrator for packaging pre-production, and Stonecube Ltd., a developer of dynamic print visualization software; Esko acquired Stonecube in May for an undisclosed sum. Stonecube also offers applications for previewing software for specialty coatings.
Esko Visualizer's patented technology renders and evaluates early on in the design phase resulting effects from actual substrates, inks and special finishes used in the final product. Target apps include book and CD covers, greeting cards, packaging and labels. www.esko-graphics.com
