Print Gets Boost From Shift to Printed Voting Ballots

Florida's switch from touch-screen voting to scannable printed paper ballots will generate nearly $33 million in orders to printers. The state is making the change in response to complaints that the touch-screen machines weren't reliable. Palm Beach County alone expects to spend $4.3 million on printed ballots. Administrators in several states, including Ohio, Maryland and Virginia, are also dumping touch-screen voting machines.
