Simco's Ion-O-Vac Mark I sheet cleaner is designed for removing dust and particulate from sheets in a sheetfed press. The Mark I can improve productivity because fewer press stops will be required to clean the blanket cylinder. The quality of printed output will also incraease because hickeys, voids and crow's feet are reduced when sheets are clean. A side benefit is an improved work environment with less paper dust and reduced spray powder contamination, very helpful when sheets are run through the press multiple times. www.simco-static.com

8200 Eclipse UV printing blankets by Day International feature an EPDM face rubber compound surface that resists swelling and embossing from UV inks. The product's surface is also buffed for consistent side-to-side thickness, and a compressible layer ensures precise and even printing pressure across the print surface, the company says. The blanket features a more durable carcass to provide longer life and sustain less damage from smashes, says Day. www.day-intl.com
