Prepress Training Solution launched four new courses at Graph Expo: QuarkXPress 7, Enfocus PitStop Professional 7, Adobe InDesign CS2-Long Document Formatting, and Dynagram DynaStrip. Prepress Training Solution, which offers online software training, says market research shows that the single area where profit leaders outspend laggards is in employee training. The firm offers a library of programs built on brief interactive tutorials with pre- and post-testing. www.prepresstraining.com

Streamfeeder's Servo Series SV-1200 feeder for gathering lines can handle product sizes from 3×4´´ to12×12´´ with rotating separating technology. There are three single-knob adjustment points on the system for product changeover. The feeder also features push-button controls and a range of applications, includingbatch counting, collating, accumulating, automatic wrapping, kit fulfillment and package inserting. www.streamfeeder.com

NELA's Horizontal Plate Cart accepts either manual or automatic loading of up to 48 punched and bent plates, ensuring no contact with the image area of the plates, the company says. From the bender, a barcode reader indicates that the plates will be transported onto the plate distribution cart, automatically indexing the plates into the bins for storage of bent plates. Oversized tires minimize transport bumps. www.nela-usa.com

Océ's CPS900 30-ipm color printer/copier features “jam free” color copy press technology. Incorporating the 1000C controller for managing color output, it doesn't require user calibration. Océ says its CPS printers bring high-end color capabilities at lower investment than high-end digital presses. When needed, two or more Océ CPS systems can be combined as a Color Production Tandem system to double or even triple output while preserving color consistency. Systems can be linked by Océ PRISMA software for load-sharing capabilities. www.oceusa.com

DiMS! 700 software release was demonstrated for the first time at Graph Expo last month. With an extended workflow page, it includes advanced production tracking to monitor material, job status, time usage and inventory. Also incorporated in the software is iPlan Scheduling Optimization, which automatically optimizes form or sheet layout when a job is moved to a different size press. www.dims.net

SIMCO Neutro-Vac industrial static controls incorporate a vacuum system with static control to efficiently clean and neutralize static charges from webs. Comprised of a vacuum hood assembly connected via ducting to a dust collector, the cleaning system can be designed in many configurations and in widths from 2" to 144", to ensure a custom match for a wide variety of requirements. A pneumatic lift option allows the Neutro-Vac hood to be raised away from the web or adjusted up to the web by moving a lever. A variety of configurations can be developed for specific applications. www.simco-static.com

Fujifilm's GS Brillia HD processless thermal plate is compatible with most thermal (830nm) platesetters and is approved for 1%-99% dots at 200 lpi conventional screens or 300 lpi for hybrid and FM. The non-ablative plate carries a latent image with distinct contrast, allowing for visual inspection after imaging. MultiGrain technology maintains ink and water balance as with conventional Fujifilm plates. It requires an imaging power very close to the firm's existing thermal plates. Rated at runs to 100,000, it requires no added equipment for processless use. www.fujifilmgs.com

Suprasetter A52 and A74 platesetters were introduced by Heidelberg at Graph Expo, geared to press formats matching its Speedmaster 52 and 74 model families. The thermal-based setters use an Intelligent Diode System laser technology developed by Heidelberg that ensures the devices can continue to function even if a diode should fail. Base modelswith manual load can accommodate anoptional Auto Top Loader holding between 50 and 100 plates to make them fully automated, including the removal of slip sheets. www.us.heidelberg.com
