Pantone Stirs up Paint

Pantone has partnered with Fine Paints of Europe to match Pantone Colors to paint. Using proprietary color formulas developed especially for Pantone by Fine Paints, designers, architects and homeowners can specify colors from both the Pantone Matching System and Pantone Paints + Interiors Color Palettes for use in their home and design projects.
“Customers always ask us to match Pantone Colors with paint,” says Bobby Burgos, Cox Paints. “Fine Paints of Europe is the only paint brand with the brightness and quality in their product to support the color variety offered in Pantone Color Systems.”
Pantone Paints are real Dutch paints, manufactured by the largest family-owned paint manufacturer in the Netherlands. On a per-capita basis, the Netherlands produces 20 times more paint than any other nation. “Designers and consumers will now be able to draw on our forecasting and color selection tools across all phases in their design projects, from inspiration to application,” says Lisa Herbert, Pantone executive VP.
Separately, Pantone released a color bridge guide for uncoated stock. The guide, printed on No. 1 grade, bright-white, 90-lb. uncoated paper, shows how Pantone Matching System Colors reproduce in CMYK on uncoated paper. www.pantone.com.
