Technifold USA's TriCreaser is a folder attachment that promises to solve fiber cracking during folding on stocks ranging from 28- to 100-lb. Operators select the setting for the paper used, move the creasing agent into position and then slide the tool onto the slitter shaft. According to the company, the machine takes the guesswork out of which score/collar combination will work best. Boise's SPLOX, holds 2,500 sheets of multi-use paper, reducing labor by eliminating ream wrappers when reloading digital printers. The patent-pending box, developed in conjunction with Boise customers, has an integrated lift handle for better ergonomics. Enfocus' PitStop Professional 7 was previewed at Ipex. The new version ensures all Enfocus applications are available within the Pitstop library. It has several preflight options, including the Navigator, which gives an overview of errors, warnings, fixes and a variety of highlighting possibilities. The preflight report represents information even more simply. PitStop also has an all-in-one PDF/X check and has the ability to place PDFs within an existing PDF. The software features view and file functions that warn operators when the color management settings are not correctly configured. Users can also use the Action List function, which records all of the changes made to the file, making it simpler to build lists for automated editing. www.enfocus.com

On Demand Machinery's Super Sewer is an automatic inline sewing machine for on demand photo books, journals, yearbooks and other applications up to 3/8´´ thick. It is controlled by a color LCD panel and has “Back Tack” technologies in which the machine does a reverse stitch on the head and foot of the book block, ensuring a stronger side sew. Domino's K200 high-speed printer was demonstrated during Ipex. It uses three times the number of print nozzles than the firm's first generation drop-on-demand printer, achieving 316 dpi printing at 295 fpm. Baldwin's WebCatcher 18 is an automatic web catching device that reduces the risk of paper backlash damaging a press during a web break. It accomodates widths of up to 81´´ at speeds of 59 feet per second.
