Variable-Data Printing

Atlas Software BV has announced the release of its Printshop Mail variable-data printing software, which integrates information from a database into the layout of a document. The printing speed is almost independent of the complexity of the layout, explains the company, as the layout is sent to the printer only once. In the printer's RIP, layout variables are replaced with the database field values of the different records. Say Atlas officials, any software can be used for the layout design, all major database formats are supported, and any color or black-and-white PostScript printer can be employed.
