Platesetter Filtering System

-- graphic arts online, 12/1/2000

The High-Purity Products division of Donaldson Company has developed filtration systems designed to collect debris and fumes generated during thermal and laser-ablative platesetting operations. Donaldson employs the use of its patented EON fine fiber technology, which creates a web of ultra-fine fibers near the surface of the filter media on the platesetter. These fibers trap sub-micron and larger particles near the surface of the filter, thereby creating a debris cake that actually improves the filter's performance, claims the company, adding that a number of platesetter manufacturers have begun to include Donaldson's filtration systems as original equipment on some of their offerings.
