Making the Web Work for You

HP says it has responded to recent changes regarding the Internet, and has moved forward by writing its own chapter in the Web-based world. Referring to this new marketing vision as "eServices," HP says its new position focuses on the Web working for users rather than users working for the Web.
According to an HP white paper, the eServices model will bring about more efficient processes due to its reach across Web sites and the ability to ultimately perform transactions behind the scenes. In the future, as printers begin to integrate more intelligence and connect to the Internet, such technologies will allow new developments in many areas, from service and support to communication.
Value will be derived not only from the product itself, but from services that can be built on top, say HP officials. The infrastructure inside the printer will allow development of extended solutions, thereby solving problems and making management of printers easier by making the Internet work for customers.
