-- graphic arts online, 12/1/2000
PIA's recently released comprehensive report on the future of the printing industry, entitled "Vision 21-The Printing Industry Redefined for the 21st Century," is the third in a series of insightful outlook reports produced by the trade association over the last decade.
Conducted primarily by the economic research and consulting firm of Standard & Poor's DRI, Vision 21 is a well-documented assessment of the challenges and opportunities awaiting the printing industry during the first decade of the new millennium. The full report can be accessed on line at the Graphic Arts Information Network Web site (www.gain.org).
Useful industry market trend statistics and insightful analysis of the forces shaping medium- and long-term technological and product trends in the industry also are available from the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) Web site (www.napl.org).
In a variety of reports, NAPL has identified and discussed the structural changes taking place in the printing industry that affect both the level of demand for print and the kinds of services that the market expects from printers.
