GATF Reveals Meeting Topics
-- Graphic Arts Online, 11/1/2000
The Graphic Arts Technical Foundation, Sewickley, Pa., has arranged for 11 of 13 suppliers of computer-to-press technology to participate in a research study to compare press print attributes and color fidelity. GATF plans to present the results at its eighth annual Tech Alert conference to be held January 28-30 in Pittsburgh, Pa.
The conference, which focuses on the opportunities and challenges created by emerging technologies, is intended to help companies plan a technology strategy.
In January, the event will also present new research results on digital photography and multicolor sheetfed perfectors, along with update presentations on remote proofing and coating using ultraviolet, electron beam, and aqueous approaches.
As part of a tradition, the Tech Alert program includes a summary of the annual GATF Technology Forecast, which covers economic and market trends, print processes and markets, ink and paper, digital prepress and digital workflow, finishing, industry standards and specifications, education and training, and the environment.
Registration fee for the two-day conference is $695 ($595 for members of GATF or the Printing Industries of America). Included in the fee is a copy of the technology forecast. For information, contact GATF at (412) 741-6860 or visit gatf.org on the Web.
