Label Firms Merge

ALGOMA, WIS. -Wisconsin Label Group has agreed to merge with Superior Label Systems, Mason, Ohio. The new combined company, to be called W/S Packaging Group, will operate 15 manufacturing locations and over 60 sales offices, employing some 1,100 people and billing $150 million in sales.

Terry Fulwiler, chief executive of Wisconsin Label Group, will serve as chairman, while Ken Kidd, chief executive of Superior Label, will hold the same title in the new company.

Wisconsin Label, founded in 1966, produces promotional, primary, and industrial pressure-sensitive labels, creative packaging, and commercial printing.

Superior Label, founded in 1970, manufactures pressure-sensitive labels and custom-designed application equipment.

W/S Packaging Group officials say that the new company is one of the top five label companies in the United States, and will continue to expand through internal growth, business acquisitions, and mergers.
