Von Hoffmann Closes Plant

Textbook printer Von Hoffmann Corp., St. Louis, will close its printing plant in Frederick, MD by Jan. 1, laying off 165. The move is part of a plan to consolidate operations in Missouri and Iowa, says Robert Mathews, the company's president. Von Hoffman acquired the plant in its 1998 purchase of Custom Printing.
