Vertis, the Baltimore media and marketing services firm, says its Chalfont, MD facility received certification by the Technology Asset Protection Assn. Security Standards, now a requirement for electronic industry manufacturers and warehousers. "We plan to achieve the same certification for the Bristol and North Brunswick facilities in 2005," says David Colatriano, group president of Vertis East.
TAPA, an association of security professionals and related business partners from high-tech companies, is organized with the purpose of addressing security threats that are common to the technology industry. Its Freight Security Requirements sets standards for high-tech products and materials as they are handled, warehoused and transported worldwide. Vertis' certification audit verified building security, data storage and handling, including the ability of outsiders to access the property, loading docks and entrances.
