Quick Printers Identify Issues & Opportunities

Quick printers report that business conditions are improving compared to a year ago. In the recent printing survey by TrendWatch Graphic Arts, 16% of quick printer respondents reported that business conditions were excellent or better than the previous 12 months, up from 4% in the previous survey. At the same time, 42% reported conditions were OK or about the same, compared to 32% previously.
Top challenges facing quick printers include competition, optimizing production workflow, economic conditions, and profitably using new technologies in which they had invested.
The big sales opportunities, according to quick printer survey respondents, are improving economic conditions (62%), short-run color with color copiers (46%), helping customers integrate new technologies (37%), helping customer do their own prepress (31%), and broadening digital printing services (31%).
