Vio Group, Roseland, N.J., has appointed Richard Dool its chief executive.

Marcel Kiessling has been named president of Heidelberg Americas, Inc., Kennesaw, Ga., encompassing Canada, the U.S., Mexico, and South America. He formerly headed the market sectors in Germany and Switzerland for the parent company, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG.

David J. Shea has been named president of financial printing firm Bowne & Co., Inc., New York City.

The Vue/Point Conference, held since 1991 in the Washington, D.C. area, will take place in Orlando, Fla. on April 11-13, 2005.

Quebecor World Inc., Montreal, awarded MAN Roland the largest commercial web press order in North America, consisting of 16 Lithoman and Rotoman presses, to be delivered over three years.

Gilbert J. Hatch, president of Xerox Corporation's Production Systems Group, died on August 26.

Tom Saggiomo has been appointed to head Agfa's Graphic Systems Group in North America, based in Ridgefield Park, N.J., succeeding Robert Stabler. Saggiomo had headed Lastra America Corporation, which Agfa recently acquired.

Warren Wilkins, president of Webcom Limited, Toronto, has been named recipient of the North American Award, part of the Graphic Arts Leaders of the Americas program, sponsored by the Printing Association of Florida.

Barry M. Pethel, a certified master printer who in a 35-year career worked for Miller Printing Equipment, MAN Roland, and Mitsubishi Lithographic Presses in addition to a number of printing companies, passed away in June. Before his death, he set up a scholarship fund to benefit students seeking an education in printing; send tax-deductible donations to North Mecklenburg High School, 11201 Old Statesville Rd., Huntersville, NC 28078, in care of Lisa Hilton.

Cenveo, Inc., Englewood, Colo., has acquired Waller Press, a web and sheetfed printer in South San Francisco.

Colour Connection, a digital print shop based in Frankfurt, Germany, reached a milestone of 10 million impressions on its Kodak NexPress 2100 digital production color press after just two years, focusing on runs up to 500 copies.
