Designers Opt to Spend On Color Management

Demand for color management tools has reached a five-year high among design firms, with 17% of design and production firms planning to invest in color management software in the next 12 months, according to TrendWatch survey data. Data also show that commercial photographers comprise a significant market segment contributing to demand, 38% of whom reported plans to invest in color management solutions.
A key factor driving investment interest in color management tools, report 27% of creative firms, is an increase in demand for color-critical jobs.
It is important to note that demand and implementation of color management goes far beyond the specific software and hardware solutions sold. Color management has become integrated into so many offerings today that many users hardly appreciate its role in their day-to-day lives. Many contemporary scanning, image editing, page layout, and proofing solutions offer integrated and thus more user-friendly—and invisible—color management tools that are seamless to standard workflows.
Accordingly, color management now plays a major and increasingly important role in today's production facilities.
