Mailing Giant Adds Software

Pitney Bowes Inc., Stamford, Conn., has completed its acquisition of Group 1 Software, Inc., Lanham, Md., at a net cost of about $321 million. Group 1 offers software that enhances mail efficiency, data quality, and customer communications.
Pitney Bowes, a $4.6 billion global provider of integrated mail and document management solutions, expects Group 1 capabilities to help it serve its customers better, while expanding its global reach and its mailstream participation.
