Digital Color Is on Top

In the Spring 2004 Printing Survey, the top area of growth for print and prepress businesses is digital color printing (like Indigo, Xeikon)—at 9%, the top service or production project that has been increasing a lot for all print and prepress businesses. Conversely, 19% of respondents said that the service or production project that has been increasing only a little is color copying.

Interestingly, respondents ranked offset duplicator work highest in two categories, "staying the same" (28%), and "a service that is declining" (12%). High-speed black-and-white copying is a leading service or production project that has been declining a little, say 15% of respondents.
