Fast Wide-Format Printer

Canon U.S.A. Inc. has introduced its imagePrograf W6200, which it calls the industry's fastest 24" pigment ink wide-format printer. The unit uses Canon's singular bidirectional head, MicroFine Droplet technology, and pigment ink solution to produce A1-size prints in less than five minutes in 600×1,200 dpi mode. It comes equipped with Canon's PostScrip 3-compatible RIP, offers a top-quality print mode of 1,200×1,200 dpi, and uses one-sixth density Photo Cyan and Photo Magenta as two of the six ink colors.

Type Gauge & "E" Scale

GEI International, Inc. has introduced its CNF-1306 type gauge and "E" scale, a measuring tool for desktop publishing, computer graphics, printing, graphic design, and any application where the size of type is critical.

The clear scale features "E" letters in from 6- to 72-point sizes for quick measurement of type and type specifying. The pocket-size tool also features scales for measuring picas, points, agates, and inches, and is made of durable laminated plastic.

Film-Wrapping System

Buhrs has launched the next generation of film-wrapping systems for companies with low- to medium-level volumes. The new Buhrs 1000 builds on the features of the original, introduced in 2000, offering substantially shorter set-up and changeover times.

The system features automated settings, a touch-screen operator panel with up to 40 storable job settings, a servo-driven seal mechanism resulting in better seal quality and less noise, motorized side guide adjustments, a new design, and a maximum speed of 13,000 cycles per hour.

Carbon Dioxide Monitor

Draeger Safety Inc. has announced the new Draeger MicroPac Plus Carbon Dioxide Monitor, an ultra-compact gas measuring and warning device for carbon dioxide in the 0% to 5.0% volume range. The maintenance-free instrument features a fully functional LCD concentration display with audible, visual, and vibrating alarms.

Featuring a rugged RFI-protected housing, the MicroPac may be worn on a lapel, shirt pocket, or belt to warn the wearer of the presence of hazardous gas concentrations.

Multifunction Devices

Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. has introduced its e-Studio 3511/4511 series advanced mono-chrome multifunction products, offering color output and the complete integration of copy, print, fax, and scan capabilities.

The e-Studio 3511 and e-Studio 4511 produce a rate of 35 and 45 monochrome printed or copied pages per minute (ppm), respectively, with a black-and-white printing resolution of 2,400×600 dpi. Both produce color documents at 11 ppm, and offer a monthly copy volume of up to 150,000 units, says Toshiba.
