Parsippany, N.J.-based L.P. Thebault Company, a printing company billing about $100 million serving a diverse, high-end clientele, launched StudioLPT in Manhattan on January 22 with an educational seminar and evening affair at Club Cielo, located in the city's trendy meatpacking district.
The event, titled "Music for Your Eyes," was created to demonstrate StudioLPT's prepress/post-production capabilities spanning the entire art-to-print process and how they can boost quality and cut cycle time at lower cost.
Nearly 400 people were on hand for the event, which featured the work of Markus Klinko & Indrani, a well-known Manhattan-based photographic and creative team that utilizes StudioLPT to assist in post-production services for its project shoots, which include Beyonce, Jay-Z, David Bowie, Iman, Kimora Lee Simmons, and others.
Demonstrations ranged from initial digital capture using the Leaf Valeo 22 camera back and the services of Studio-LPT, through the final printing by L.P. Thebault using stochastic screening and advanced print techniques.
Jim Sewell, director of StudioLPT, says, "This was a great way to show in a festive environment how the graphic arts expertise of creative, marketing, print production, and supplier professionals can be brought together to achieve an outstanding printed piece."
More than 100 creative artists and print professionals enrolled in LPT University seminars, which included use of Adobe products, Creo systems like Synapse Prepare and Synapse InSite, Staccato 10-micron screening on Lastra LT-2 plates, DuPont proofing products, and Utopia One X paper from Appleton Coated.
