Mary Garnett has been named executive director of the Web Offset Association, a unit of the Printing Industries of America and the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation.

Ken Hanulec has been promoted to vice president of marketing for Creo Americas, responsible for product marketing, marketing communications, business development, and telemarketing.

Agfa-Gevaert has agreed to acquire the Belgian company Dotrix NV from Barco for approximately $7.6 million.

John P. Sweeney has joined Integrated Color Solutions, New York City, as vice president of sales and marketing, responsible for the company's Remote Director monitor-based contract proofing system. Sweeney most recently directed color measurement products for Graphics Microsystems.

Quad/Graphics, Sussex, Wis., named Joel Quadracci to the post of senior vice president of sales and administration, as well as board member. Also, Thomas J. Frankowski was appointed to the new post of senior vice president of manufacturing, responsible for print production across all divisions and plants.

Colter & Peterson, Paramus, N.J.-based supplier of paper cutters, has joined with Roy Peterson Cutting Equipment of Phoenix to purchase Pacific Paper Cutters, Inc., Vernon, Calif., which is being renamed Colter & Peterson Pacific. Also, Colter & Peterson has formed a Canadian division, based in Cambridge, Ontario, headed by Dan Barber, formerly with Dexter-Lawson Manufacturing, which the company purchased last August.

KBA of Germany has taken a majority stake in Metronic, also of Germany, a 300-employee manufacturer of ink-jet, hot stamping, laser, and thermal transfer identification devices for industrial applications plus UV offset printing systems for CDs, DVDs, and plastic cards. Two years ago, KBA and Metronic collaborated in developing the unique Genius 52 offset press.

Banta Corporation of Menasha, Wis. has appointed Michael Allen to serves as president of the Banta Print Sector, responsible for the company's four print divisions, the book, publications, direct marketing, and catalog groups, based in Hinsdale, Ill. Allen most recently was executive vice president of print solutions for RR Donnelley.

Steve Reiss has been named vice president and publishing director of the Printing and Packaging Group of Reed Business Information, which includes Graphic Arts Monthly, Converting, and Packaging Digest. Terry McCoy Jr., Reed vice president and group publisher, continues as publisher of GAM.
