Lehigh Press Is Acquired

By Staff -- graphic arts online, 10/1/2003

ST. LOUIS—Von Hoffmann Corporation, an educational and commercial printing company, signed a stock purchase agreement to acquire Lehigh Press, Inc. for approximately $110 million in cash. Lehigh Press, which specializes in the production of book components and direct marketing materials, reported sales of $118.7 million in its last fiscal year.

Lehigh's operating divisions include Lehigh Lithographers, a provider of component printing and digital premedia services, and Lehigh Direct, a provider of direct marketing services.

Von Hoffman officials, who expect that the transaction will close within 60 days, report that Lehigh Press will be operated as a separate business unit. Lehigh Press president and chief executive Raymond A. Frick and his management team will continue to lead Lehigh Direct after the acquisition.
