Flint Ink Corporation, Ann Arbor, Mich., called the world's largest privately owned ink manufacturer ($1.4 billion in sales, 5,000 employees), has created Jetrion, LLC, a global company providing a full range of industrial ink-jet products, services, and custom printing solutions.
The multimillion-dollar commitment, says Flint, is intended to capture pent-up demand for ink-jet integration services, enabling technologies, and new high-performance inks.
Named Jetrion president is Ken Stack, formerly vice president and general manager of Flint Ink's digital division. Stack says, "Flint Ink's financial support, strong market presence, and industry relationships will enable Jetrion to deliver a full complement of ink-jet solutions worldwide."
Jetrion, to open in late summer, is to provide ink, hardware, software, and services for continuous ink-jet (for which Flint already offers 22 different ink, makeup, and wash products) and drop-on-demand applications.
