Printcafe Software, Inc., Pittsburgh, is reorganizing itself so as to enhance product and service offerings, improve customer support, and save costs.
As part of the restructuring, it will consolidate job functions and is expected to lay off 44 people, a reduction of about 14% since the company went public in June.
These measures, say officials, will result in annual cost savings of about $2.5 million.
After the restructuring, the company will have about 325 employees. It will continue to be headed by Marc Olin, president and chief executive.
As part of the changes, the management of the entire product portfolio has been consolidated under Bob Bierwagen, senior vice president of product management and a 25-year veteran of the print management software industry.
Similarly, all customer service and support functions have been consolidated into a single global support organization under Bob Rothschild, vice president of global services.
Says Printcafe, further changes include the shifting of development resources to key growth products such as the company's PSI print management system platform. Finally, Printcafe has consolidated its direct machine interface products into a single product line to be marketed under its Auto-Count brand, which will incorporate its proprietary Elysium technology.
