Polly USA, Jacksonville, Fla., previously the independent distributor in North America for Czech-made Polly sheetfed presses, has been acquired by the Prague-based manufacturer, Grafitec, s.r.o., which is majority owned by Charles Investment Partners, Washington, D.C.
Thermal Care, Inc. has purchased process cooling equipment maker Applied Web Systems (AWS). The deal came about as a result of the May announcement that Grafix North America–which had purchased AWS's sheetfed, web, and process cooling product lines at the end of 2000–had lost its distributor license for Grafix GmbH equipment manufactured in Germany.
