Six Projects Receive Funding
Staff -- graphic arts online, 4/1/2002
The Graphic Arts Education and Research Foundation (GAERF), Reston, Va., has approved six new grants for 2002, for a total of $186,545.
The recipients and projects follow.
North Carolina A&T State University: 12-week graphic arts process course.
California State University, Center for Technology Education: implementation of the second part of a three-phase project to develop an articulated graphic communications career path, elementary through university.
Georgia Southern University: expansion of a comprehensive training program, including on-line education, workshops, and extended programs to regional states.
Ball State University: Graphic Arts/Printing Institute, free to participants, to introduce the printing industry and its career opportunities to high school guidance counselors, yearbook and newspaper advisors, and journalism and art teachers.
Clemson University: two one-week institutes this summer for graphic arts teachers.
Virginia Polytechnic and State University: continued funding for GraphicCommCentral, a comprehensive Web portal for educators and students.
