HARRISBURG, PA.—The State of Pennsylvania has presented its governor's award for safety excellence to Standard Register's York, Pa. printing plant. The award, the highest industrial safety honor the state bestows, recognizes the plant for operating for more than six years without a lost-time injury.
About 300 people work in the plant, producing business forms and products ranging from birth certificates to checks.
"We're very proud of the York team," says Peter Dorsman, Standard Register's chief operating officer. "They committed themselves to worker safety, which is our top priority. And they succeeded, having six years of no lost-time injuries. The governor's award is wonderful recognition of our team's accomplishment."
Standard Register, which is based in Dayton, Ohio and recently completed a restructuring, has an annualized run rate of about $1.1 billion. The company provides business forms, labels, fulfillment, electronic documents, consulting, and e-business services to the healthcare, financial, and other markets. It employs about 6,000 people.
